While trapping a cat colony in Leggett at the Drive-thru tree, a cat trapper found this sweet gray mamma! She had a limp from what looks like a broken leg that healed the wrong way, and a tail that she couldn’t even lift. Her name was Lucky, and seeing all her healed wounds we could understand why! Once she was at the clinic we found that she was an absolute sweetheart who wanted nothing but to purr and be cuddled! The caretakers of the colony relinquished their ownership and with some funding from our Feral Colony Fund we were able to amputate her tail. During her recovery she was walking around loud and proud now that the dead weight of her tail wasn’t holding her back!
UPDATE:
Our sweet gray girl, now named Stumpy, is living her best life! After one of our employees fostered Stumpy during her recovery, we all noticed how much she loved to be around humans. She was so full of love, cuddles, and purring we knew we had to find a home for her! Stumpy was adopted and is now living life as the queen of the castle! She spends her days sitting in a cat tree watching the world outside of her window, or sitting on the couch watching TV! But most of her time, she is curled up either on the lap of her new owner, or tucked under his chin when they’re both sleeping. Stumpy has discovered cat toys and is always thrilled when a new one comes home. We love happy endings like this, and were so grateful to help out this sweet girl!Â
