Softie and the Hard Headed Eye-injury

This sweet girl was brought in by one of our volunteers for us to take a look at her eye! This stray kitty, we named Softie, was spayed here a while ago, but the difficult life of a community cat does not end once they can no longer reproduce.
Turns out the eye itself (at least for now) is fine. It appears she experienced a traumatic event to her face, and the swelling and discharge are from an infection caused by a bite wound. The infection is in the facial bones.
Softie received pain and anti-inflammatory medication, and several antibiotics to help her heal from this traumatic injury and infection. We will recheck her condition in a week.
UPDATE
This sweet girl is healing up really well! She has responded to her treatment plan and will continue to stay on antibiotics while she continues to rest up with her medical foster. Miss Softie craves affection and loves to cuddle!
